The honest read. The AI-diagnosis-plus-repair-costs feature is no longer rare — Skanyx, FIXD, CarMD and Carly all ship a version of it. What actually separates CarSense: it reads your codes on any $25 adapter you already own (Carly, FIXD and BlueDriver only scan through their own branded hardware, and CarMD's scans need its own device or a trip to a partner store), grounds costs in US industry averages, and costs less than the other AI-plus-repair-cost subscriptions ($49.99/yr vs FIXD $99.99 and Skanyx $69.99). Skanyx is the one genuinely close rival — also open-hardware and AI-native — but it's pricier, and its store listing and website still show repair estimates in euros for European cars.
